Gas Booster System

Gas Booster System

Gas Booster System

The gas booster system allows you to pressurize gas from a standard supply bottle to pressures up to 35,000 psi. These systems can connect inert gases or multiple hazardous gases in single or multiple booster units, in single-stage or multi-stage arrangements.

They include all air controls, air pilot control switches, pressure relief devices, and pressure isolation and vent valves. All components are mounted and housed in an open stainless steel frame with a sloping front control panel.

Our gas booster systems are available in a variety of configurations, such as single-stage or two-stage styles, depending on gas pressure and flow requirements.

One, two or three gas boosters can be used in parallel or in series to suit your exact needs. Any gas booster system has the ability to be remotely controlled and/or automated. Pressure sensors and chart recorders can also be integrated into the design to record your test data.

Safety relief devices are standard on all our gas booster systems to ensure maximum safety for all personnel when operating our gas booster systems. Accessories such as remote control switches and gas receivers are available to your specifications. Casters can also be added for easy portability if desired.

Gas Booster System

What is a gas booster system and how does it work?

Suncenter gas booster systems provide a pneumatic solution to increase gas pressure with all the appropriate operating and safety hardware for the application. These easy to install and operate systems provide a compact and often portable unit that can pressurize most gases, including nitrogen, argon, helium, oxygen and hydrogen, to pressures up to 36,000 psi for some gases. These systems use shop air as the driving force to operate pneumatic (reciprocating piston) gas intensifiers. Gas intensifiers achieve higher pressures by using shop air pressure, which acts on a much larger pneumatic piston area than the outlet high-pressure gas piston. This piston area ratio and the automatic reciprocating action via an integral four-way slide valve provide the means to increase gas pressure. The booster is controlled by a low pressure air drive regulator with a gauge and ball valve. The inlet gas is monitored by an inlet pressure gauge and an inlet pressure switch is typically used to ensure that the inlet pressure is maintained at a minimum pressure level. The outlet gas line typically includes an outlet pressure gauge, vent and isolation valves, as well as a high pressure switch that automatically shuts off the booster at the desired preset pressure, a pressure relief device to prevent overpressure, and gas filtration. Where appropriate, a gas storage vessel with a high pressure regulator may be added to deliver gas at the desired pressure.
